back to top What is the Inventory in eBay Motors Pro?

The Inventory shows all the vehicle listings you have created, whether you have chosen to display them on eBay and/or Gumtree.

back to top What are Filters?

Using the filters on the left hand side of the page allows you to narrow down the vehicles displayed to help you find a particular listing. Using filters doesn't affect which of your listings appear on eBay or Gumtree.

back to top What are summary and detailed views?

Using the details button on the top right hand side of the page, you can switch between detailed and summary views for all your listings. You can also change the view for one listing at a time by clicking the view/hide details button on the bottom right of each listing.

back to top How do I edit the number of vehicles displayed per page?

At the bottom of the page on the right hand side you have the option to select the number of items to display per page. At the bottom of the inventory page, next to 'Items per Page', you can find links which allow you to select the number of listings to show on a single page. Just click on the desired number.

back to top Where do filters apply?

When you are using filters you are searching cars within your own inventory on eBay Motors Pro. This is especially helpful if you have a large number of listings and need to find a particular vehicle. To search for vehicles on eBay or Gumtree select the relevant link in the top right hand corner of the screen.

back to top How can I find a particular vehicle?

Using the filters, narrow your search based on:

  • Make and model of the vehicle
  • Year
  • Mileage
  • Price
  • VRM
  • My Reference - this is a unique reference you enter when creating listings in eBay Motors Pro. You can filter based on all or part of the reference.
  • Quality Measures - these are features about the ad such as number of pictures, age of listing etc.

back to top How do I get rid of filters when I don't need them anymore?

If filters have been applied, there is an option to clear all filters.

back to top How do I sort my inventory and by which features can I sort?

At the top of the page there is a drop down menu which allows you to sort listings on a range of different criteria. The arrow next to it allows you to change between ascending or descending order.


Deleting Listings


back to top How do I delete a listing from eBay Motors Pro?

Select the vehicle by checking the box on the left hand side. When selecting one or multiple vehicles, you will see a range of options become available at the top of the screen. You can now publish, unpublish, delete or move the listing/s you have selected.

back to top I've deleted one or more of my listings. Can I get them back?

Yes. All deleted listings will be available on the ‘Sold/Deleted’ tab for 180 days after deleting them. During this period you are able to reactivate them. After 180 days in the waste bin, an ad will be permanently deleted.

back to top How do I publish my listings on eBay and/or Gumtree?

back to top How do I share on social media?

To the top right of your inventory you will see a share button. Selecting this will give you the option to share to your Facebook, Google+ and/or Twitter profiles. You can edit your social media preferences in the settings page.

back to top How can I find my ad on eBay/Gumtree?

If the listings you're looking for are published you will see a green tick at the top of the listing in your inventory screen and the link next to this for eBay and/or Gumtree will be active. Selecting this link will take you to the listing on site.

back to top Publishing errors

If you receive an error notification when publishing your listings to either eBay or Gumtree, firstly take note of the error message and which site it relates to. You can attempt to publish the listing again to the site that failed. If you continue to experience issues, you can contact eBay Motors Pro Customer Service on 020 3580 0800 if it relates to an eBay listing error, or contact Gumtree on 0203 5800200 if it is a Gumtree specific issue.

back to top Do I need to create an Upload Username and Password?

It is not necessary for you to create an upload username and password unless you want a third party company and/or software to upload your listings to eBay Motors Pro.

back to top Who is able to upload listings to my account?

At first, only you are able to upload listings to your account. As soon as you create an upload username and password and pass this on to a third party, they are able to upload listings on your behalf.

back to top Can I change the Upload Username and Password I created?

Yes, go to Settings > Settings for Uploads > Change Upload Username & Password and click Change. Enter a new upload username and password and click Save.

back to top Why do you need the name of my third party company?

Telling us who is uploading stock on your behalf (your 'third party company') helps us analyse how the upload process is being used. We look at this information so that we can evaluate our customer’s needs and continue to provide a high quality service. Note: providing us with your stock agent's name is not mandatory.

back to top How can I print my listings as flyers or price tags?

You will find a 'Print Centre' link in the 'More Actions' menu to the right hand side of the listing. Here you will see the available printing options, including large and small flyers and price tags.

To delete your logo, go to your settings page and scroll down to the default settings for listings on eBay section. Click on the change button underneath your logo. On the following page, you'll have the option to delete your logo underneath the picture of your logo.

back to top What happens to my listing after the time period elapses?

Your listing will automatically relist until you choose to unpublish or delete it.

back to top What is the eBay Showroom?

The eBay Showroom enables potential buyers to conveniently browse your entire Inventory and offers you the opportunity to generate more leads. The design of your Showroom will depend on the product you subscribe to. Plus package subscribers enjoy our new showroom, whilst Premium subscribers are eligible to use a branded showroom with detailed search available within their stock. Comparable to an eBay shop, potential buyers visit your showroom by clicking on a link on one of your vehicle’s view item pages on eBay.

back to top How do I apply features to my Gumtree listings?

You can apply features for your Gumtree ads from within eBay Motors Pro. Features place your ad at the top of the search results page on Gumtree for a set period of time, depending on your feature package – either 3 day, 7 days, or 14 days.

On the inventory page on listing level, the ‘More Actions’ context menu will provide up to three entries: feature on Gumtree (3 days, 7 days or 14 days) and will specify the number of credits available.

back to top What is a tracked number?

All your listings across eBay and Gumtree get call tracking from our partner Freespee. This allows Gumtree and eBay to see activity across your listings and our account managers can discuss how to optimise your listings on both sites. You will also have access to the Freespee dashboard to see for yourself how effective eBay and Gumtree are. Our systems automatically assign a number to your listings — you do not need to remember to add a dedicated eBay number. Tracked numbers do not interfere with your own tracked numbers if you use them.

This sign indicates that a listing was configured to be immutable by bulk uploads and is not affected by any bulk upload sent to your account from you or a 3rd party provider.
